Free Zoo Day 2014

The last Wednesday of November just happened to be "Free Zoo Day" at the Hogle Zoo. We'd talked with my parents about going to the zoo this summer, but just hadn't been able to make it happen - so we invited my parents to come to the zoo with us. My dad had a meeting he couldn't get out of, but my mom was able to come down (yay for Thanksgiving Break!).  I'm so glad that my mom was able to come. We thought that it was going to be frigid and we came prepared with layers and layers of clothes, winter coats, scarves, hats, and gloves. It turned out to be such a nice day though! Lydia ran around in a long sleeve shirt - no jacket or anything. We had such a fun time, even though it was crazy busy.

Babywearing for the win! (Although after a while he was happier laying in the stroller - we kind of went back and forth. Glad we brought the stroller though. It made for a great place to store all of our winter coats.)
Lydia loved the train and wanted to ride it SO badly, we didn't think we could handle the wait because the line was a hundred people long - but I wish that it had been shorter because she would have loved it.

We had to laugh because we've never been to the Hogle Zoo with Lydia before. We've been to the Houston, TX Zoo. We've been to the Cincinnati, OH Zoo. But the zoo that's 30 miles from home? Nope haven't been there. Well, now we have!
