Five Things

I had lots of things to write, but it's late and I am tired. I would write tomorrow but we have a really busy day so all you get is this little list and maybe a picture or two.

#1- Lydia has slept in her bed all night (beside her feedings, about three per night) for the last three nights. This is a huge deal. Most other nights she has ended up with me on the couch. Yay for progress.

#2- Great hangout time with lots of friends and family. My mom, my sister Melissa, my friend Ashley, my dad, David's sister Amy, David's parents, my friend Rebekah. It's been a great week.

#3- Lydia has started being more interested in her toys. For the first time she reached out grabbed her toy and brought it to her mouth. Now she can't get enough of it. Oh, and she has a dimple! It's so darling.

#4- My hair is falling out like crazy. This really isn't a good thing... but it's a pretty big deal (in a sad way) to me. I probably need a haircut a-sap... But I will be sad to see these long locks go.

#5- Today we were able to attend a super awesome banquet for David held by the Utah Association of CPAs. He was inaugurated as one of the newest members of the CPA profession. Lydia played with her Grandma Peaden and David and I got to go on a fun date to the Little America. Here are some of the pictures from the day: (I'm so proud of David, he is so amazing!)

Today we are celebrating at the Peaden house. In fact, we just might be celebrating every day for the next full week. Why? Well... after lots of long hours spent with books like this:

... David finally got his score back from CPA exam #4.

Regulation 

Score: 86

Hallelujah! That means that David scored 86 on two tests and 96 on two tests. All you need is a 75 to pass - in fact - many Accountants have the philosophy that if you get higher than a 76, you studied too hard. However, nothing could be better than passing every section the first time. 

I am so proud of David and really feel that I married the smartest, hardest working, most wonderful boy in the world. I am grateful for how hard he worked, and how much he sacrificed, in order to achieve this amazing thing.

So... from now on - you may all address David as "Mr. CPA". I'm sure he will love it. I know that I am loving it! We honestly won't be able to celebrate enough to commemorate this awesome occasion. However, I'm thinking tonight is definitely going to be homemade milkshakes, tomorrow will probably be pizza, and Friday we might just have to splurge and go out to the movies or something. Any other great celebration ideas?

*Shhh... don't tell him... but we will probably be celebrating at Texas Road House tonight. Hooray!

The CPA exam(s)....

Well Ladies and Gentlemen... tomorrow is Round Two of the epic CPA exam. (There are four sections.)  David is such a dedicated and hardworking person- and has been studying for hours every night for the past 4-5 months. He took Round One of the CPA exam the first week of July, but due to a change in grading policy (or something like that) we won't get his results back until the end of September (hopefully.) I have complete confidence that he passed it with flying colors, but I really can't wait until we get the results back! (It will just be a major sigh of relief.)

I just want to say how proud I am of David, and how grateful I am for his hard work and dedication. I am not always the most supportive when he is studying and I just want to go do something fun. David studies at home, on vacation, and even studied the entire drive to Paul, Idaho last weekend while the rest of my family and I chatted and played. He is amazing. I try to remember that when he is spending all of his time with this guy:

This is Peter Olinto. He is one of the many people who lectures to David about the importance of learning what  DR * CR * IR equals. I tease David that i'm not his best friend anymore, Peter Olinto is his best friend. However, this is not true. Rather - Peter has become a best friend to BOTH David and I. Specifically because, if Peter can help David pass the CPA exam on the first time and make it so he can stop studying for hours every night - then I have no reason not to absolutely love him. Because someday soon, David is going to bring home one of these....

... and we are going to have a PARTY!

In other news: between all the crazy amounts of studying, lesson planning, trip taking, wedding announcement-ing, and working - David and I are still completely in love with each other.

Yep, I said it. Recently, we have had several people comment on how "newly married" we still are, and so instead of getting offended and trying to argue with it - i've decided to embrace it and just enjoy our "newly married stage." 

Okay, sorry for that random tangent - I was just thinking outloud. 

IN CONCLUSION: Send lots of luck and prayers David's way so that tomorrow he can go and ROCK the BEC section of the CPA exam! We would really appreciate it!
