Neither Lydia nor Austin had ever been boating before, which is an oversight that I am slightly ashamed to admit, so when there was talk about taking the boat out on the 24th of July - I jumped at the opportunity. I wanted to go boating and I wanted to spend time with my family so badly that I was brought to tears when I thought we weren't going to be able to make it. Thankfully, everything turned out perfectly and we had a wonderful morning on the water followed by yummy food and game playing. (Killer Bunnies marathon, anyone?)
(Both kids slept really well at night and took great naps- Lydia especially loved sleeping in her princess castle. Boating takes it out of you!)

The next day, the 25th, we met up with David's family and spent the afternoon admiring the treehouse that Cal is building for the grandkids - then went to dinner with all the adults to El Farol's Mexican Restaurant. It used to be a family tradition to go there on a regular basis but no one has been in a long time. (I think the first and last time I went with them was right around the time that we got married.) It was long overdue and very nice to be out with everyone.
As a bonus, we convinced Jenna and Camille to come and stay with us for several days the following week! My mom and dad came down too and spent some time with us all. It was awesome. I was lame and didn't take any pictures of our fun until they were loading up to leave and the kids were all grumpy. But - proof! They were here and we loved it. (There will be one more little cousin to add to the mix in December - another nephew! We are so excited.)
