October Wrap up

Here are a few other things from our October:

The historic "Big Boy" train came to Utah on a tour. Lucky for us, we live right by the railroad so we did not even have to leave our house to see it. Shantel and the kids listened for it to come and when they heard the loud rumble they went to check it out. Cool that we could watch it from our house.

Reading books.

Shantel and the kids went and did some peach picking for homeschool and then worked together to make peach jam.

Then a few days later- we went back to pick more peaches with Melissa and Blake for a family home evening activity.

We even had races down the rows.

Also- I could not resist taking a sleeping kid picture. They are all so darling - awake and asleep.

We had the annual fall festival (this is the first year...since we joined the ward that either Shantel or I was not in charge of the event) and the kids had a great time! Here is Austin at the donut on a string.

More cute kid pictures.

Lucy had a massive blowout at church (and I literally pulled her away right after and it was too late). I had to carry her around and find Shantel and let her know we were both headed home for a change of clothes.

Lydia outside with Pup Pup

Austin flipping pancakes. It is amazing all the things he can do and how quickly he is growing.

Sibling love and fun together.

Reading books with Mom.
We had a great October.

Halloween!

Happy Halloween! We had a great Halloween this year.

Shantel invited some other Homeschoolers over for a Halloween party. Ali Middleton is reading a Halloween story while they enjoy a snack.

Here are some of the kids in costumes. Lucy was a princess.

Caleb was a knight.

Austin was a dragon.

And Lydia was....the red panda that lives in the castle.

For dinner we had hot dog spaghetti with Octopus Jell-o, string cheese octopus and hot dog shaped octopus.

Bruce came down to do trick or treating with the kids which was super nice.

The past few years we have done our part of the neighborhood and then Lydia has wanted to go back out so we have gone over to the bull hollow side and also done the townhomes with just her. This year Caleb stayed back and both Austin and Lydia went out with me to do more trick or treating. However, this year, Austin really wanted to go to the house that he does pre-school so we headed that way instead. After that street they were tuckered out and ready to head home.

Caleb had so much fun back at the house with Shantel handing out Candy.

The kids were excited to get inside and eat some of their candy.

Plus, the Perkins even stopped by with Riley to show off their costumes before heading to a party.

Then everyone cuddled in bed with glowsticks.

Except Austin who came back down and said, "I want to watch football with you." And there was no way I could resist that, so I let him stay and watch.

The next day, Austin consolidated his candy into a tub that use to have M&M's.

Also, for math Shantel had Lydia get all of her candy out to do a bar graph and the type of candy. Lydia got to pick how to graph it and decided to do it by color. Such a fun project.
