Life is good when this little guy is around.
Stats: 18 month clothes. Size 4 diapers. Five-almost six teeth.
Some things I want to remember this month:
-He can twist his tongue all the way upside down. It took me a long time to realize exactly what he was doing. He often holds it sideways in his mouth so that it's almost vertical, and then sometimes he can turn it all the way upside down. It's so hard to explain, and even harder to take a picture of. But SO funny.
-Stands and lifts his hands and acts so pleased with himself, but only when he's right by something that he can grab back onto after several seconds have passed. If you try to stand him on his feet in the middle of the room he will just drop himself to the ground and crawl to where he wants to go.
-He has these funny super long hairs randomly around his head. I need to cut them, but I've been waiting for his hair to grow long enough that I can cut a lock of it to save. It's super thin and fine and isn't growing much, except for those few really long hairs! Maybe I should just cut those ones out and save them. Ha.
-He loves Lydia and crawls to her to give her hugs. He loves Austin and rolls around with him on the ground. They both adore him, and the most common morning event is the two of them stumbling into my room or his room asking if he's awake and snuggling up to him.
-He has started to be a picky eater. He will only eat what he wants to eat and will turn his nose up (literally) at anything he doesn't deem appetizing at that moment. Even things that he used to like, or usually likes, if he doesn't want it in the moment he will refuse. He basically only wants to eat bananas and can eat a full sized banana in about 40 seconds flat.
-His favorite word is "Nana" which means banana, and when he sees you bringing him a banana he starts freaking out saying it increasingly loudly and flailing his arms and legs. Doesn't really say much else, just yells a lot to get attention.
-Still nursing, just at bedtime, in the morning, and right before naps.
-Naps at 9 & 2.
-Sleeps in zippy and I don't know how we'll ever transition out.
-Gives the best pirate grumpy face.
-Not walking, but crawls fast.
-Climbs onto everything. He can get on the bottom bunkbed, the toddler bed and even the couches by himself (if the circumstances are right.) He climbs up and down the stairs like a pro- and even climbs down the outside stairs with no problems. In fact, now that he can get out the sliding door and down the steps by himself it's like his whole world has opened up! Also, he's tall and he has long arms. He can reach things that I didn't think he could get on the table or on the counter. He just stretches up to his tiptoes and reaches his arms out and he can get basically whatever he wants.
