We are oh-so excited for our new home. There has been a ton of progression so far. Because we live SO close to the building site, we head on over pretty much every day to see what new has been going on. It's been so fun. Sometimes nothing happens and sometimes some pretty big things happen. We don't always know what they are doing -but we are confident that they know what they are doing and that our house will turn out beautifully. (Even when they dig big holes in the backyard and then fill them back in within the day.) I'm sure that there will be lots more posts about our house progression, but here is the first in the series!
Step 1- The hole is finally dug!
Step 2- There are crazy metal things in the bottom of the hole.
You can see the basic outline of each room. The stairs are on the right side in the middle. The cold storage is at the front in the middle, etc...
Aren't we such a darling little family? This was when it was still nice and warm outside.
And then... Step 3- The foundation is poured! We didn't get any pictures of the foundation with the wood support because it was so sudden. We did stop by the night before, but it was dark and by the time we got back to take a picture they had already removed the supports.
We can't resist the opportunity to take a picture of us together in front of our house.
Isn't she beautiful?
We are so happy!
Step 4 -And now the driveway and the sides of the home are all filled in.
Except the back. That still isn't filled in yet.
Yay for window wells!
Step 5- Cement is poured in the garage and basement.
We really are just so excited for the progress that is being made on our home. Be on the lookout for more progression updates soon! It's going to go really fast from here on out.
