Managed to learn how to navigate the skywalks in Minneapolis and enjoyed learning the new software that we are going to train the rest of the firm on. Now I'm super excited to get home to my family tonight. #msptoslc #missthem#noworkonsaturday

My mom came to spend the last couple of days with us and I loved every second! She brought my parents (giant) truck so that David and I could go pick up a bunk bed from IKEA for Lydia's birthday. (Lydia is sooooo excited. She's sure she's getting a bunk bed because she asked for one for Christmas and didn't get it. So her last hope is her birthday!) I wish my mom could live next door. I didn't want her to leave. I've been blessed with an amazing mother who taught me to love others, to be confident of myself and my abilities, and to keep my head on straight. I'm more and more grateful every day for the amazing woman and example of motherhood that she is. Oh and she brought the bracelet kit we gave her for Christmas so we could make matching bracelets with Lydia, because she's as awesome of a grandma as she is a mom.

This morning as we were eating breakfast, Lydia shouted, "Look! There's a camel outside on the road, right there." I wasn't sure what she was talking about, but looked out and saw a mama deer walking right past our back fence! I said, "Oh! It's a deer, how neat!" And she said, "Yes, a deer!" (So, some slight animal confusion but, so funny and cute.) We watched her eat some sagebrush, then saw her baby deer following her down the dirt path. I snapped the picture of the mom after the baby walked away out of sight. The kids loved it.#ihopetheyfindsomewheresafetogo

Just finished delivering these fun baby shower announcements this morning. I delivered some last night, and this morning realized that there was a typo. After much stress, debating whether to go reprint them before delivering the rest, I decided to let go of the worry and just let it be okay. My old perfectionist self would never have let something like that slide. I still feel a little dumb about it, but I'm so glad I didn't spend two hours trying to reprint and restuff them. Also, if you know Gabby and didn't get an invite- let me know! I'd love you to come. #boyohboy#wearegoingtohavecrepes#unlessichangemymind#canyouspotthetypo?

insta-david - timeline takeover!
{5.1.16}
It has been a crazy week and a half. I have worked a ton, be we have also had a bunch of other fun stuff going on. So without further ado, this is my first official Instagram timeline takeover. Last Saturday we had a great time. Lydia's loved swinging on this wheel at the museum.

{5.1.16}
We went to test drive cars for a new commuter car for me and decided to look at vans as well since we were planning to buy a minivan soon as well.

{5.1.16}
We drove this and it was perfect! Except it was about $2,000 more than we wanted to spend. After telling them it was too much they dropped their price $400 and then we put on our coats to leave and they dropped it another $1,200. That was close enough for us and we bought this 2014 Chrysler Town and country. #minivanmom #minivandad

Special shout out to my sister who came down and hung out with us and watched our kids while we did test drives. Even bigger thanks since she watched extra long while we negotiated and signed paperwork. This is her and Austin on an awesome trolley ride.

{5.1.16}
We went back to the museum this weekend and Lydia loved this awesome jungle gym.
(shantel update: David took the kids to the museum while I hosted a baby shower at our house. The kids loved it and I was so grateful that they were out having fun and not underfoot!

{5.1.16}
Also, she is awesome at climbing and made it all the way to the top. Look, no hands!

{5.1.16}
Austin also had a great time. I had quite the rock collection by the time we were done.

{5.1.16}
With a baby shower party Shantel threw in the morning and Lydia's birthday party in the afternoon there was a lot of party prep going on. The best was watching Lydia with Shantel helping to decorate her gummy bear cake. She was so focused and did a great job with the frosting.

{5.1.16}
Also Lydia had a great birthday party.

{5.1.16}
And got a new bike.
