Lydia's 8th Birthday!

Our Lydia turned 8 today! We were so excited to celebrate with her. We tried not to let the Pandemic dampen the celebration, even though we could not go out to do much in celebration.

Lydia got a punchboard for the week before her birthday and got to punch out a cup each day and then do or get something special.

My parents came down and we did a social distancing birthday party. Among other things, she got a really comfy chair to read books in (in her favorite color - brown).

Lydia got to help make her cake. This year she requested a dog bone shaped cake with other dog bones stacked on top of it and a dog made out of cake. Once again, Shantel was amazing and came through. She even made the cutest little dog out of fondant.

For dinner, Lydia got her favorite meal, Nacho Soup. I'm sure we have this somewhere, but just in case...the kids love eating their nacho soup out of these little wooden bowls. They get a full helping in their regular bowls and then transfer to the little tiny bowls to eat it.

We invited Lilly to come over for cake and ice cream and that made Lydia's day. It is the first time that anyone has been able to come over to play since the pandemic started in March.
