We spent the 4th of July at Bruce's house on our way back from our Nauvoo trip. Originally we were a little sad to miss our neighborhood 4th of July party. One of our favorite traditions is that our block does a big Independence Day party with desserts and fireworks. However, for some reason, they made a last minute change and decided to do it on the 5th. We were so excited, but that meant we needed to leave Colorado Springs pretty early and make really good time. Fortunately, the kids were so great and we were able to drive from Colorado Springs to Home with just one stop.
We got home and unpacked and then went over to the party. There was tons and food and tons of fireworks and the kids were so happy. We did a bunch of fireworks in the middle of the street and then they moved to the corner to do the aerial fireworks.
