Black Friday!

We had a super successful Black Friday this year. Over the past three year's there has been a creep up of Black Friday into Thanksgiving, which we do not like. We have never gone out until Friday morning since we are opposed to stores opening on Thanksgiving. However...this year we did go out at about 11 pm to go shopping. While we don't love stores opening on Thanksgiving, it was super nice to be able to go out while our kids were sleeping.

We went with Wendy and Sam, Amy, and Kevin and we all squeezed into their van. On top of our shopping list was a baby video monitor, a table, a camera, and toys for our kids. We also thought about buying a new iMac online, but looked at it and decided not to yet.

After going through the ads we found quite a few things that we were looking for in the stores.

Jenna Haderlie wanted us to try and get this mini trampoline at Toys R Us.

We wanted to get this tool bench set for Austin (my mom ended up buying it to give to him for Christmas)

We also really wanted to find this baby monitor.

We ended up going 3 for 3. Even though the stores had opened hours earlier, we were able to find everything we were looking for. Trampoline, check. Tool bench, check. Baby monitor....check...mostly. They were actually out of the baby monitor in the picture, but we found one on sale at Toys R Us that seemed great and bought that. We also got an awesome V-tech car racing set for Austin on sale, a cash register and.... underwear for Lyda (it's been on a list of things she needs and it was on sale too!). Wendy and Sam, Amy and Kevin all ended up buying a few things as well. In fact, Kevin ended up with a 55 inch TV and was the night's big spender. We got back after 1 AM, and had such a fun time.

The next day we got up and ended up going back out to pick up a few more things. These included some paw patrol pups with their patrollers for Lydia and we found some roller skates for Lydia as well. By 12 pm on Friday we had most of our big Christmas shopping done. We plan to do the rest of our shopping online and it should be pretty easy. I had a lot of people who think we are crazy. But at 11 pm. the stores were not very busy and we got all the things we wanted and knocked out most of our shopping in one big swoop.
