One of my very favorite things in the whole world is going on dates with this lovely girl in the pictures with me below. We've had a great time lately with some really fun dates. We had family help with babysitting and also did a November/December babysitting swap with some of our neighbors.
These first two are from Magleby's Fresh. Wendy and Sam Reacher love Magleby's Fresh and have recommended it multiple times. We've been "planning" to go for along time when we have a Hale Center Theater play to go to because 1) the location is right near the theater and 2) there is a coupon for a free dessert on the back of every Hale Center ticket that we get. For this play we invited Amy and Derek Perkins to get tickets and come see "Catch Me if You Can" with us. They met us at the restaurant before and we had a delicious dinner. Shantel got the stuffed breadstick, which was a breadstick stuffed with turkey and mozzarella cheese and I did "Doc's Truck Stop" which was a heaping plate of roast beef and mashed potatoes. After we went to the play and enjoyed the 200th play at Hale Center Orem.
We have probably recapped most of the plays from our season tickets this year (which were amazing), but here is a recap of the year listed in order of our favorite to least favorite.
The Nerd- One of our top three favorite plays at HCT ever. We laughed so hard we were crying, for basically two hours. (Favorite three plays for me at HCT, The Scarlet Pimpernel, The Secret Garden and the Nerd).
See how they Run- Very funny show and so much fun.
Catch Me if you Can- Really well done, one of our favorite things is that Detective Handratty was played by the same actor that was the lead actor in the Nerd and he did amazing at both roles.
Peter Pan- We loved all of the dancing and the large cast with so much going on.
Joseph and the Tecnhicolor Dreamcoat- Entertaining and fun.
Jane Eyre- Not our favorite, but some beautiful music.
Fortunately, even though are season tickets are out, we have tickets to see Pillow Talk in January.
Next is from the Temple. We love going to the temple and I think Shantel looks beautiful always, but most beautiful in the white clothes of the temple.
We had a date scheduled for Saturday morning through our babysitting swap and I was thinking how nice it would be to go out on Friday night AND Saturday morning. Shantel was so nice and set it up to have my brother Kevin come down on Friday night to watch the kids. We went to our friends (the Perkins) Christmas party and then went to do shopping for stocking stuff for our kids and to get White Elephant Gifts for the Peaden Family Christmas Party. The next morning we had our bonus date and went back to Walmart and bought stocking stuff for each other. We split up to keep it hidden from each other. After we went to breakfast at the Black Bear Dinner. This is a new restaurant here and we had heard great things. I actually went to another location a few months ago for work and loved it. We ended up ordering a breakfast and a lunch (they serve everything all day). We ate the breakfast together and saved the lunch for later that day. Both were quite delicious and we were very impressed, I think we'll be going back.
So grateful for all of the dates I get with Shantel. I love you so much Shan!
