March 2020. It's been quite the month. It's interesting how normal the month started and how quickly everything turned around. (It gives new meaning to the whole "in like a lamb, out like a lion" thing.) I treasure these Instagram posts because they give little glimpses into the day to day thoughts and feelings. Sometimes I think "I want to write down this feeling/thought", so I'll find a picture so that I can post about it. Sometimes I start posting about a cute picture and all my words come tumbling out. I love this blog and I'm grateful for the big picture items that it captures - but I'm grateful for the little paragraphs under each picture - the thoughts and feelings of this life we are living together.

A couple days ago, my dad sent me these sweet pictures of three-year-old Lydia feeding the horses on the ranch with the message "Just looking through some photos and saw these. They made me smile and thought I would share them. To show Lydia she has loved horses (and cows) since she was little." Then today he happened to have a work meeting in Lehi so he came by to help work on the bathroom in our oh-so-close-to-being-finished basement and afterwards was able to go watch Lydia at her horseback riding lessons. Lydia hasn't been taking lessons long, but she has already grown so much. She carries her own saddle, picks/cleans the horses feet, combs the horse down, and lots of other basic horse care on top of learning how to ride. My dad grew up on horses (a true-blue cowboy 🐎) and when I was younger I had dreams of becoming a rodeo queen. (The closest I came was being crowned FFA sweetheart my senior year of high school. 👑 Yes, amazing I know. 😂) I love that Lydia is learning to ride horses, that she is gaining confidence, and that my dad was able to share in that with her today!

Sometimes it feels like the world is ending but your little boy turned three this week and wants a "Little Blue Truck" birthday party- so you make a slightly lumpy Little Blue Truck-and- good-friend-Toad cake and you find peace in the little things that keep the world spinning. I can't wait for Caleb to wake up tomorrow to see his cake. He was sick on his birthday, so we are celebrating all of his "my name is Caleb Samuel and I am three" goodness tomorrow.

Just thinking this morning about what a delight the Sabbath was. Austin gave a talk on the book of Mormon. Lydia talked about Joseph Smith. We partook of the sacrament and we blessed in our study, all from our home. God loves us and knows us. Plus, we had little blue truck breakfast pancakes and a cake for Caleb's birthday.

"When something seems bad, turn it around and find something good!" #lifelessonsfromdanieltiger You guys know I love Daniel Tiger. I was sitting on my couch, feeding Lucy and catching up on all the Covid-19 posts (also my phone just auto-filled Covid-19😳😂). Things haven't been so different for us, other than my kids don't understand why now that ALL the other kids are finally homeschooling they can't play with any of them. Oh, and we woke up early early this morning to convert our homeschool room into an office for David who is now working from home for the foreseeable future. But even though things aren't so different, there is a lot to process with all that is happening in the world. (praying so much for people who don't have the same privileges and security that we have) I looked up at the screen right as this chorus came on. Oh, I just love Daniel Tiger. There truly is so much good to be found right now. I have lots of feelings about this that I probably will post, but right now I'm just grateful for this reminder to look for the good when something seems bad. Now Daniel and his family are singing "I like to be with my Family!" #pbskids is killing it with their positive attitude today! ❤️❤️❤️ #selfquarantined #stayhomewashyourhands

David's new work digs. We were up at 6 am to clear out our schooling stuff and turn our homeschool room into David's new office. We think that although the Corona Virus precautions may seem drastic (especially because of how quickly they have come) but we have loved ones who are high risk and we just hope everyone will take this seriously. David might be a little worried about getting all the work done that he needs to (#busyseason) but day 1 and we've loved having him pop in and out through our day. Also, David's favorite meme of the week: a March madness bracket with a final showdown of Public Accounting vs Covid-19 😂😂😂

Zoom piano lessons yesterday with our favorite @robosteff and a video-doctors appointment this morning for a killer rash Caleb has. (My end-of-the-world senses wouldn't have been surprised if it was the measles or something equally terrible, but it's not. Whew.) I'm feeling so grateful for technology right now. Keeping us connected and able to continue with life, even if it is an isolated strange version of reality.
