Branding is a family event, and even though we don't do much work it's so nice to be there. We counted up all of my cousins/extended Walker family and there were only 5 missing people. I have two huge regrets. One- I didn't push us to take a large family picture. (I should have.) Two-I should have used my time there to take a bunch of video clips of branding to turn into a movie. It's a huge loss that I didn't think about it until we were on the way home, but with that many people there and my grandpa getting older, it would have been an amazing legacy to capture. I am really sad about the missed opportunity. But we did spend the day hanging out with family and making good memories, so that's important, too.
And the haybales. Always a favorite pasttime.
I love my dad and I love my grandpa and I'm so glad that my kids get to experience what life is like on a cattle ranch.
