Happy 38th Birthday David

Happy birthday to our favorite guy! Our October is pretty busy, but we absolutely made sure to squeeze in a celebration for him this week. I was still in Mexico when his birthday week officially started, but I prepped all of his birthday bags before I left and Lydia got them out to surprise him while I was gone. His birthday was on a weekday in the middle of Austin's baptism weekend and the Peaden Family Gathering weekend, but we were able to sneak away for a little date on Saturday night after Austin's baptism was over. Then on his actual birthday-day we celebrated with presents and pie.

I love this man more than words can say.

I found a fun song to put behind some of the kids birthday videos this year, but whenever I listen to the actual words - all I can think is how perfectly it fits how I feel about David.

I love you always, forever
Near and far, closer together
Everywhere I will be with you
Every thing, I will do for you

You've got the most unbelievable blue eyes I've ever seen
You've got me almost wilting away
As we lay there, under a blue sky with pure white stars
It's all the sweetness, magical time

Say you'll love me forever
Never stop, never whatever
Near and far and always and everywhere and everything

I love you always, forever
Near and far, closer together
Everywhere I will be with you
Every thing, I will do for you

I snapped these pictures in a rush of gratitude one night when we were tidying up the main level before going upstairs to bed and David grabbed the vacuum to give it a quick go-over. It needed to be vacuumed but I wouldn't have gotten to it that night. It seems silly to even post about it because this is just normal life for us. We are a team and we work together on all the things - but I also realize that not every home is divided so equally, or rather, united so evenly and I just wanted to make sure that I recognize David for all he does and all he is: the garbage taken out, the floors swept, the kids tickled then tucked into bed, the hours working to provide for us, the yard work, the impromptu songs, the watching the kids while I am serving in my calling, the hours of "Chase the Monster" and "Poison Ball" played in the basement, the Hallmark movies & Shark Tank episodes watched, the DP cans shared, the financial stability & budgeting, the peace and calm that he brings to our home. All the things.
