Caleb lost his first tooth! (Age 6) He has been so excited about loosing a tooth since his last dentist appointment when the dr showed him the grown up teeth growing in on the xray. It was the best “loosing tooth” experience. It was only about 2 hours between feeling wiggly and popping out and it was right before bed. Unfortunately, I forgot to swap it for money during the night (#momfail). Luckily, he was more than happy to have me “sneak” a dollar under his pillow in the morning. He used that dollar to go on an ice cream date with dad and he was incredibly pleased with the outcome of his first lost tooth.

I wrote a paper in an architecture class in college about Frank Gehry and the “Dancing House” in Prauge. Last week I got to visit the Weismann Art Museum with David (in Minneapolis) and I loved it for its meaning to me and for its spontaneity. We were on a boat floating down the Mississippi River when the captain pointed it out and I named the architect as he said it. “That’s my favorite architect!” I said. Several minutes later, I clarified, “well, technically, my second favorite architect.” (Love you forever Frank Lloyd Wright) Half an hour later we were crossing a massive pedestrian bridge to go on a free tour. (Spontaneous = so much fun)

Welcome to the (extended) 🐶 family little Pippi.

(Special thanks to my parents and sister for getting dogs and letting Lydia love on them as if they were her own.)

Sometimes you feed your kids cold cereal for Sunday dinner and when it’s time to turn off their favorite “Random Acts” show and put them to bed - instead you pop popcorn and let them watch three more episodes while you work on Primary stuff.
.
I mean, hypothetically, sometime someone might do that. 😂

A friend (@daniellelindsay.m) asked me what I needed to feel ready for the homeschool year to start. I had a short list that included both getting my daily schedule onto paper and organizing my homeschool room. One week into our homeschool year and I finally tackled all the papers from last year, summer sewing stuff, and random items that had gathered in our school room. It feels so nice and I feel much more organized and excited for this upcoming school year!

Flowers for a friend and gratitude that I’ve been surrounded by good people throughout my life. 💐

We spent the most beautiful rainy day at McBrides Briar Patch picking raspberries yesterday. We drove down in a rainstorm with the hope that it would let up long enough for us to pick (I had been analyzing the weather forecast). We started in the rain and it was the most refreshing, and somewhat ridiculous, adventure. Wet branches, rain sprinkling down, soggy jackets. I loved it so much. The rain slowed and then stopped long enough for us to pick pounds and pounds of berries in the fresh crisp air. There is something about picking fresh fruit in the fall that fills my cup to overflowing, (apparently even if weather conditions aren’t ideal). I’m somewhat stubborn and sometimes push through when I should probably change plans, but it worked out for us yesterday and I want to remember the joy of laughing and picking berries with my kids in the rain.

From California to Minnesota; a Victorian London Ballgown to the top of Mount Timpanogos; this past year has been pretty great. Here’s to 36!
I’ve been teasing David since we were first married about how old he is (3 years older than me). We attended his 20th class reunion last night and suddenly that joke seems like more truth than farce. 20 years is a long time! However, now that age 40 is right around the corner it doesn’t seem quite as old as it once did. We both agreed that we are still quite young and spry.
Huge shoutout to @sarah_newbold for making sure Jason texted David about the reunion and for supplying the “class reunion bingo” sheet for us to secretly complete. So fun spend the evening together.
Go jags!
We missed you guys @cgriffin2010. And we are glad to have extended the night with @countryflint because wouldn’t be a HS reunion without you.

We went on a field trip to a local farm today and Lydia is dying to have her own piglet. @lwalker23 I told her she’d have to ask grandpa to get her a piglet. She said she’d settle for a goat.
(Also, the guy said she could have one and when she told him that our HOA wouldn’t allow it he told her that we could just not tell them. 😂😂😂 like we could hide a 200 lb pig in our backyard.)
