We had a really great September. A few things for our wrap up post this month:
I have not had a good book to read in a while so I put some books on hold. They all came in pretty fast. Shantel was so kind to pick them up for me at the library and surprise me with a bunch of books to read. I'm grateful she does so many little things like that for me all the time. I've already gotten to read the Judges' List and Red Winter and really enjoyed them both. I can't wait to read the other books in my pile. There are few things better than ending the day in bed with a good book and sitting next to Shantel
For Mother's Day, we gave my mom a "date night in" coupon. She cashed it in and we brought her Panda Express and stayed the night. After we put the two littlest down, we watched a movie with her in her bedroom. It was a fun evening and hopefully was a pocket of light on her calendar.
Matt and Brooklyn moved from California to Orem and we love having them live so close to us. Shantel is particularly loving the chance she gets to snuggle her new niece, Baby Sylvie. Matt has already babysat for us several times and we have been able to see them quite a few times since they moved here.
The kids have been playing musical beds at bedtime lately. Right now Lucy and Caleb share a bedroom and Austin and Lydia share a bedroom, but on any given night that combination may change. The other night we ended up with Caleb and Austin together (with Caleb on the floor) and Lucy and Lydia together (on the same mattress).
We celebrated Caleb's half-birthday!
Our Garden finally started growing, and once it started - it exploded. Within two weeks we had massive plants that had started producing and it was so exciting. It finally feels like all the work we've put into our garden area last year and this spring is paying off. Next year I am sure that it will be even more exciting because we will be able to get our seeds in on time. Shantel is so happy with the way the garden turned out (especially her cattle panel arch).
