Summer Range 2024

One of our favorite things of the year is getting to go to the summer range. Shantel and the kids headed up on Thursday and then I drove up on Friday to meet them there.

They stopped by the house to drive in with Scott and so they got to visit the brand new baby kittens on the ranch.

I feel like we don't have as many pictures as usual - but I feel like most of the time was spent riding four wheelers and motorcycles. The kids spent all doing going out on adventures and then almost as soon as they got back, they were ready to go get back on and ride out again. This year Caleb was old enough that he could drive the four wheeler and he had so much fun. Everyone was able to make it this year (Scott and Lori, Jenna and Kevin, Matt and Brooklyn, Melissa and Jacob.

One other really fun thing this year is that the kids wondered if there was "buried treasure" on the Summer Range. Before the kids got there Scott went out and created a treasure hunt for the kids. There was a clue hidden by the camp (that looked like it was trash that needed to be thrown away). The kids read it and it was a clue that led to another clue near the spring. The clues led them around the summer range using references to things that had happened on previous summer range trips. The kids loved it. There were some clues that even required use of a metal detector and were buried in the ground. They also had to use a compass. It ended with finding a stash of treats.

There was a lot of good food and marshmallow and good time spent by the campfire.

The other really fun thing we did was the "Grand Tour." This was the first time that we did it without Grandpa Great, but it was so good to continue that tradition. It was also really fun because Scott wanted to build the trail out more towards the edge of the property and so we blazed a new trail and it was fun to work through that and find a path that we could go and create.

One of Austin's favorite things was getting to do some shooting with his Grandpa. He always looks forward to that and he really enjoyed that.
