(I'm so glad that we have so many kids homeschooling this year. I love homeschooling with friends! I wish it wasn't because of covid.) 

100 Day - Math Lesson. (Highlight of the year for Austin.) 

( A few extra words about this 100 Day Math Lesson: )

Several weeks ago, Austin looked ahead in his Math book and noticed that there was a page that introduced the "100" number. He was so excited that he would start his math lesson each day by counting how many more days until we got to that lesson. After almost five weeks, we finally arrived at our "100 day!" In addition to his math lesson, we did some extra 100 activities including a 100-project. Austin chose one thing to count out 100 of and make it into a project. He thought about books, dry pasta, and beads but finally decided on counting out 100 candy sprinkles to decorate his own personal rice crispy treat. He counted each sprinkle himself and enjoyed eating his treat at our weekly poetry-treat-time. 

Lydia happily jumped on board with the 100 sprinkle idea and did her own math level appropriate math for the day. It was one of those simple things that makes a big difference.
