Last year we went to The Secret Garden at the Hale Center Theater - Orem. It was so much fun, and because we went on opening night we received free tickets to go to the gardens at Thanksgiving Point. We'd hung on to them for a while, waiting for the perfect opportunity to use them. This was it! We'd been wanting to go for a long time, and we were glad to get the chance to explore the Thanksgiving Point Gardens. The first thing we saw when we entered the Children's Garden was their fun Noah's Ark splash pad. We weren't sure how Lydia would react, but she looked interested so we pulled her out of her stroller and let her play for a minute. She loved it!
I love the one where she is tugging on my pants, like "Mom! Lets get back in the water, please." She is so sweet and loved it so much. We probably could have spent our whole time at that one spot, except Lydia started trying to sit down in the water to play - so we decided that it was time to move on. We enjoyed walking around the children's garden and then headed over to the waterfalls in the main gardens. The perfect spot for some pretty pictures.
We weren't able to make it through all of the gardens - but we fully intend on going back. (Remember, the plan is to get a Thanksgiving Point membership next year.) We came home and put Lydia down for a nap. Then, because she was having so much fun at the Splash pad we decided to take her to the pool for the first time. Her little swimming suit is so cute. I seriously can't get over it.
We had a great time. We read our books for a while, played in the water, ate a little picnic lunch, explored the swimming area, and played some more. It was awesome because Lydia was content to sit and put Laffy Taffy candies in the water bottle. Over, over, and over again. David and I read our books and occasionally stopped to pull the candies out of the bottle. Lydia loved the water. I'm so glad because I love the water. She's a water baby just like her mama.
Such a fun day!
The perfect sunny day for our little vacation. We loved it. Mostly we just loved being together.
