Phoenix Trip 2015 - Part 8: Coming Home

After a fabulous week in Phoenix we loaded up in the car to start our 2 day road trip back home (we stayed in a gambling hotel in Mesquite on our way home- it was skeeeettcchhhy but cheap). I can't say enough how great the kids were in the car. We couldn't have asked for better road-tripping companions. Almost no crying, lots of sleeping, and only a few movies watched. We took a detour near Zions to find a beautiful overlook for us to eat lunch on Sunday. Then we stopped in Saint George to visit Sue's parent's graves. We hadn't been back since Grandma McAllister's funeral. It just happened to be the 10th anniversary of Grandpa McAllister's death, which wasn't planned - but was so neat that we were able to visit on that day. We took some time to clean things up and Lydia picked every dandelion she could fine to make a little bouquet. It was a lovely day and after a lot of driving we finally made it home!

It was an incredible trip and we are so glad that we were able to go. We really missed David being with us every day, but were so glad that Cal and Sue were able to come with us. I feel good about how prepared we were for the trip- especially food wise. I packed enough food for almost every lunch and dinner, only eating out a handful of times. We had some good meals! Mason jar salads, chicken tacos, chicken wraps, 7-layer-bean-dip, mini-pizzas. It worked out great.

I didn't get as many details written in as I would have liked (didn't even mention our super unsuccessful roller skating attempts) but it's blogged! We had a great trip and are so glad we were able to go.

The end.
