Lydia did indoor soccer in March and loved it. It was fun for us to be there. Here the highlights/things I'll remember from her first real team sport.
-She has the cutest run/hop in the world. She would run around and then every little bit she would add in a hop that made her look like she could not be happier.
-She was not afraid to get in there and go after the ball. She was not the best at kicking it, but I was proud because she was not afraid to move in and try to get the ball.
-Every time her team scored she had the biggest look of triumph and loved celebrating. She did not care if she scored, she just loved when her team scored.
-She was always so kind. There were multiple times that someone would fall or the ball would hit their face and Lydia would stop and check on them to make sure they were okay.
-Lydia would always find us in the stands and wave to us multiple times a game. When she got to the sideline after a substitution she would look over and check on us and wave to us (and her brothers). Even when she was in the game she would often look over, give us a huge smile and wave and then go back to playing.
-She is such a rule follower. Right from the first day if her coaches told her to stand in a line, she would stand in the line and not move. Or if she thought she was supposed to kick it a specific way, she would do that.
Her Highlights:
She loved getting after game snacks
She loved just running around
Her soccer jersey and shinguards
Her soccer medal. After the last game she got her medal and was so excited and proud of it. We had to run to the store after the game and she was excited to wear her medal into the store (with her soccer jersey) so everyone could see she is a champion soccer player.
There were 8 games and we had so much fun. They would practice for about 20 minutes before the game and then let the kids play. I loved it and so did Shantel and the boys. Here are some of my favorite pictures.
