One of my favorite things about the Christmas Kickoff is that dedicated time with our kids. However, that is not to say everything goes perfectly. Sometimes the kids fight or are not the best listeners. In fact, it is just like any other day, but being able to slow down and do what they want is so nice.
Kids closing their eyes waiting to see our Christmas Kickoff box.
This year our box included: A Gingerbread village, A blow up globe game, perling beads to make a rudolph the red nosed reindeer and Clarice, a chocolate orange, junior mints, popcorn and new Aggie shirts for everyone (my favorite thing!).
We started off with the globe game. After that, the kids could not wait to make the gingerbread houses. This was so much fun. The kids worked really hard to build the houses and then loved covering it with candy. Plus, Shantel and I had fun too. It was great that everyone had their own little house to work on.
We tried to get a picture with Lucy with her house, and she quickly managed to get some frosting on her finger. We took a quick picture before we had to hurry and grab her before she got a taste.
After that we went up to the Outlets at Traverse Mountain to see the giant Christmas tree, and buy the kids new jammies.
The tree was super fun, we even spent a few minutes dancing around the tree singing Christmas songs.
Then we went to McDonalds and got kids meals for the kids. We let them play in the play place for a few minutes and then brought food home for our movie night. We got started with our movie which was, 101 Dalmations. It was a huge win. The kids loved it and it was so much fun.
After they ate, we got everyone changed into pajamas, moved all the beds downstairs and got cuddled up for the rest of the movie.
Lydia was so cute, she collected all of her things, pillows, blankets and stuffed animals and wrapped them in a blanket to bring them downstairs.
Opening up the chocolate orange to eat during the movie.
Everyone cuddled up. Cale went to sleep up in his bed, but everyone else including Lucy slept downstairs together.
P.S. Way too many pictures of my family sleeping- but they are so cute especially all cuddled up by the Christmas tree.
One of the best things is getting to wake up with the kids in the morning, they love that!
