Lydia Jr. Jazz

Lydia got to do Jr. Jazz this year. This is the first year she will have played basketball and I was super excited. I loved playing in Jr. Jazz. It is amazing to now have a daughter playing. I also loved watching her play and grow and have so much fun.

Before each game the team would do drills to practice dribbling, passing and shooting.

Lydia is still not super strong and so it was hard for her to get the ball all the way to the rim, so I should her where she could go and get passes so she could shoot. There is her spot under the rim. During the second game Lydia scored her first basket. We was technically after the ball went out of bounds and she grabbed it and shot it in and it was great. A few weeks later Lydia caught a pass from a teammate and shot it up and scored her first real basket! I was so proud. However, I was even more proud of everything else she did. She was a great teammate and celebrated her teammates success. She was happy to be out there running around and playing defense. She worked really hard and did a great job.

Grandma and Grandpa Walker came to watch one of her games.

A couple weeks the assistant coach was out and so I helped with that which was really good.

Lydia's favorite thing about basketball was almost certainly the snacks after the game. Her team also won a pizza party by winning the sportsmanship award and she said that was her favorite thing. Also, Shantel was a huge support and helped by being in charge of the treat schedule.

Austin was also so good to come to the game every week even though it was not the funnest thing for him. He was glad we were in charge of treats the last week so he could treats too.
