Lucy's Eyes: Update

Here is an update for Lucy's and her vision. It has been 9 months since her appointment in December because her appointment in April was cancelled due to COVID-19. Her vision has been pretty stable over that time and she seems to be able to see well and react and respond and is progressing well physically. However, it is still hard to know exactly how well she can see.

It was super cute to see her in the chair with her being so little. Dr. Owens did her examination and said that everything looks similar to where she was in December. The back (center) of the eye is underdeveloped, but she did not see any other nerve damage. Overall she felt that Lucy is doing well. We won't know exactly how well she can see until she can start to respond and indicate more exactly what she is seeing.

We continue to be so grateful. We often look back at those first few months when Lucy could see so little. When Shantel was making her birthday video, it was so very apparent that she could not see well. Now, to see her vision have progressed so far, we are grateful to God for this miracle.

While we were waiting Lucy liked to grab my hands and then she would push them together so I would clap. It was super cute.
